FibreStrap supports Oyster restoration in the North Sea! 🪸 🌊 🐟

ibreStrap supports research where scientific divers attach FibreStraps to one of the four "horns" of Thornback Ray (Raja clavata) egg cases. 

The study aims to study the feasibility of using FibreStraps in marine research, leveraging the natural anchoring points of the egg cases. Oyster restoration in the North Sea focuses on reviving flat oyster reefs that once covered up to 20% of the seabed but were lost due to overfishing, diseases, and environmental changes.

Efforts include projects where oysters and shells are introduced to create self-sustaining reefs, benefiting biodiversity and coastal protection. These initiatives aim to enhance marine ecosystems by supporting species diversity and improving water quality.
